Films from around the world were screened at the South West London International Film Festival in Colliers Wood on Saturday.
The festival at The Sultan pub brought film makers and audience members together to enjoy a spectacular program of films selected from more than 500 entries – with music performed by The Colliers Wood International Ukulele Orchestra.
Awards were presented for the best film from each category, with Alex by Haroun Al Shaater taking the prestigious Golden Leaf Grand Jury Prize.
Yaz Al-Shaater, who collaborated with his brother Haroun on the film, said: “He’s really proud to have the film here.”
SWIFF, now in its fifth year, is a family run event organised by director/producer Laurentiu Huianu and his wife Penny Allsop.
Next year the festival will collaborate with Oxford International Film Festival and Norwich Medical World International Film Festival, giving film makers the opportunity to share their creations with a larger audience.
A full list of winners as well as further information can be found on the SWIFF website.
