Non-League preview: Sutton United aim to end Barrow’s unbeaten streak after hitting six at Dartford in FA Cup

Sutton United host Barrow in the National League on Saturday knowing a win could move them into the top half.

Having secured a thrilling 6-3 win away at Dartford in the FA Cup last weekend, United  return to league action with fifth place Barrow making the long journey to Gander Green Lane.

The Bluebirds, currently on a 15-match unbeaten run, come into the game in fine form after defeating play-off chasing Eastleigh 4-0 in their last league outing.

Paul Doswell’s Sutton though are on their own unbeaten run of six games, three wins and three draws, and welcome back Dean Beckwith and Bedsente Gomis after suspension.

In National League South, Hampton & Richmond travel to Chelmsford City with both sides locked on the same number of points in the play-off positions.

The Beavers lost ground on the leaders last weekend after a surprise 1-0 defeat to struggling Oxford City last weekend, but they were handed a confidence boost in midweek with a 5-0 victory over AFC Hayes in the Middlesex Senior Cup.

Chelmsford have yet to suffer defeat at the Melbourne Community Stadium so far this term, but Hampton go into the game on the back of seven wins from eight on the road.

Kingstonian and Tonbridge Angels will meet again for the second successive weekend with the Angels making the trip to Kingsmeadow in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Alan Inns’ header secured a 1-0 victory for The Ks last weekend in the league and they will be hoping to repeat the victory with both sides level on points in the league.

There is more cup action this weekend with Metropolitan Police hosting Hendon in the London Senior Cup second round.

The Blues will be hoping for better luck in the cup after Corinthian Casuals knocked them out of the Alan Turvey League Cup with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night.

In Ryman League South, Tooting & Mitcham will be hoping to close in on Dorking Wanderers at the top of the division with victory at Chipstead.

The Terrors are six points off the lead and go into the game after a convincing 4-0 win over Cray Wanderers.

Carshalton Athletic are two places further back in fifth and have a double header this weekend, away at second-place Greenwich Borough on Saturday and home to mid-table Faversham Town on Monday.

Corinthian Casuals are also in action in Ryman League South as they take on league leaders Dorking at the Westhumble Community Ground.
