A 15-year-old boy who stole a car at knifepoint in Croydon in February received a custodial sentence on Monday.
The youth had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to robbery and threatening a member of the public with a knife.
He was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, September 12 to three years in a Youth Offenders Institution.
At around 9:30pm on Monday, February 8 the youth threatened the female driver of a silver Peugeot 307 as she was making a manoeuvre in Elmwood Road, Croydon.
He stole the car and drove it to Haslemere Road, Croydon where he crashed it into a parked vehicle.
The man was arrested and charged following an investigation by Croydon police officers
