Non-League preview: High-flying Sutton United look for double Bank Holiday weekend success

Sutton United will look to continue their impressive start to the National League season as they face two matches in the space of 48 hours over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Third-placed United, who have ten points from four games having won their last three matches, travel to Chester FC tomorrow before they host second-placed Dagenham and Redbridge on Monday.

Paul Doswell’s side will be buoyed by last Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Macclesfield Town and will be confident as they travel to take on a Chester team without a win in three games.

Hampton and Richmond Borough make the short trip to Wealdstone on Saturday with forward Jamal Lowe in fine form having netted five times already this season in National League South.

Lowe has scored in his last four games and will hoping to continue his run as the second-placed Beavers aim to close the gap on league leaders Maidenhead United before hosting Dartford on Monday.

Metropolitan Police are still chasing their first league win of the season after a lacklustre start left them bottom of the Isthmian Premier League with just one point from four games.

They must tighten up a defence that has leaked 11 goals already this term before they host a Tonbridge Angels side on Saturday that have won four games on the bounce.

The Blues will then do battle with fellow strugglers Kingstonian on Monday.

The Ks also have just one point and take on Staines Town on Saturday.

Carshalton Athletic will be hoping to extend their 100% winning start to Isthmian Division One South when they travel to play East Grinstead, a side that is yet to secure their first points of the season.

Sharpshooters Ricky Korboa and Mickel Miller lead the Robins’ attacking threat with both players wanting to build on their two goals each.

They then host Chipstead on Monday.

In the same league, Tooting and Mitcham welcome high-flying Dorking Wanderers on Saturday knowing a win will see them leapfrog their rivals.

United are unbeaten in the league and will face a quick turnaround before they take on derby rivals Corinthian-Casuals on Monday.

Casuals have had a perfect start to the season winning both of their league fixtures and, after a tense 3-2 cup victory last time out, they will be looking to continue the winning run when they travel to Godalming Town on Saturday.
