Team GB men’s field hockey team will go head-to-head with host nation Brazil in their third match of the competition tonight.
Wimbledon hockey players Michael Hoare and Henry Weir will form part of the 11-men squad looking for a win.
Both defenders already have three bronze medals under their belts from the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 and 2015 Hockey World League.
The pair will undoubtedly be looking to add an Olympic medal to their list of accolades.
Fellow Wimbledon player Ian Sloan is the youngest member of the team, making his Olympic debut — playing the position of forward and midfielder.
James Bailey has also travelled to Rio as reserve goalkeeper alongside his Wimbledon teammates.
Great Britain and Brazil are currently occupying the bottom two slots of pool A and tonight’s match will be crucial for both sides.
Team GB are one point ahead of Brazil, having only secured a draw against New Zealand following their opening defeat to Belgium.
Brazil have lost both their previous matches and are equally determined to win tonight as only the top four teams from each pool, at the end of the round-robin, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The match is due to start at 10pm.
