Sutton United 2-0 Chelmsford City
Champagne-soaked Sutton United manager Paul Doswell says his team has to savour winning the league title and enjoy it with their families.
Goals from top goalscorer Dan Fitchett, his 21st league goal of the season, and Ross Stearn in the first half were enough to beat Chelmsford City and lift the National League South trophy with a game to spare.
Craig Eastmond thought he got the side’s third goal in the second half but was flagged for offside in the build-up.
Doswell said that although football has its low moments, these are the high moments that matter the most.

“For me, of course it’s about family,” he said.
“Myself and a lot of the players will have had their family there on Saturday and in football you have got to savour these moment, because they will be going for me if we were to lose four-on-the-trot next season.
“I often say in football that 90% of it is brutal and 10% is joy and this right here is up there with the very best.
“Those players deserve it after going 25 games unbeaten and have the best record in terms of goals scored and I think goals conceded too, it’s a fantastic achievement.”
In November, Ebbsfleet United were top of the league and 23 points ahead of Doswell’s side before a brilliant run of form saw glory come to Gander Green Lane.

Despite the competitive rivalry this season, Doswell hopes Ebbsfleet will see off their play-off rivals and join them in the National League.
He said: “I really hope the two best teams get promotion this year, if it is not them then I think Maidstone United.
“I think they both more than deserve to go up with us, they both gave us a hell of a show.”
Entering the top tier of non-league football, Doswell believes Sutton will have a chance to compete well if they stick together.
He said: “If the team stay together it will only get better.”
