In recent years sushi has become a staple foodstuff for Brits, and now Battersea Waitrose is leading the way as the first national supermarket to boast its very own sushi chefs.
The Battersea branch of the ‘Trose next week will be the first to install an all-singing, all-dancing sushi bar for health-conscious south west Londoners.
Sushi artisans will display their raw talent with handmade and sustainably sourced sushi and maki to grab and go.
Party planners will also be able to order large platters for entertaining and family feasts.
Anthony Wysome, Head of Store Development, said: “Our customers’ lifestyles are changing with the growth of eating on the move – and we are responding to this shift with our continuously developing food-to-go offering.”
The new sushi counter is being launched in partnership with Sushi Daily and Waitrose plans to roll out up to 50 branches across the country.
