AFC Wimbledon are looking to convert good performances into victories as they search for their first ever win against Barnet tomorrow.
The Kingston-based side have lost just once in their last seven league games, but they have drawn three of the last five, including last week against Northampton Town.
Adebayo Azeez gave Wimbledon the lead, but John-Joe O’Toole earned a point for the Cobblers in a result which leaves Neal Ardley’s side in 16th.
Barnet have won two of the four previous meetings between the teams, including a 1-0 win at Kingsmeadow in 2013 prior to their relegation out of the Football League.
However, they earned promotion last season and have made a steady start to the campaign as they sit two places, and three points, behind Wimbledon.
The Bees have lost all of their away games in the league so far, but Ardley is adamant that Martin Allen’s men will provide a stern challenge.
“They are going to be strong,” he told the club’s website.
“They will test us by putting balls into the box and running hard. There are no easy games in this league and I expect Saturday to be anything but that.”
Scoring goals has been a problem for Wimbledon so far, with just 11 in 10 games, and Ardley said they have been working hard to improve their composure in front of goal.
He said: “We know where the problems lie and the things we have to try and master. We will work really hard at that.”
However, he may have to do without striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, who came off against Northampton with a hamstring problem and is a doubt.
Striker Tom Elliott is definitely ruled out, but defender Karleigh Osborne is back from suspension.
