The Morden mosque fire that broke out over the weekend is not being treated as a hate crime, Merton police have said.
Two teen boys, 14 and 16, were held on suspicion of arson yesterday after a blaze broke at Morden’s Baital Futuh mosque on Saturday.

The 14-year-old has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early January while the other boy, 16, has been released with no further action.
While enquiries into the circumstances continue, there is nothing to suggest at this stage that this is a hate crime.
The fire broke out at around 12pm and ten fire crews were still tackling the flames four hours later.
No one was injured but one man was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties.
