Footage of the thief who swiped an antique black panther from an art exhibition at Royal Hospital Chelsea has been released by Kensington and Chelsea police.
The bronze sculpture is worth more than £100,000 and was stolen from the Masterpiece Art Fair on its final day on July 1.
The eight-second CCTV footage shows the man pick the statue up from its display plinth, glance around the room before tucking it under his jacket and walking away.
Detective Constable Pete O’Brien, from Kensington and Chelsea CID, said: “We know he left in a taxi which dropped him at Appold Street at the junction with Primrose Street near Liverpool Street station.
“If you recognise the man or know of his whereabouts please contact police.”
The sculpture is bronze and measures 14cm high by 37cm long.
