Andy Murray aiming to take down giant Ivo Karlovic as Serena and Venus Williams resume sibling rivalry

Andy Murray carries British hopes on his shoulders going into week two at Wimbledon as he sizes up the 6ft 11in Croatian Ivo Karlovic in their fourth-round match today.

The 2013 champion is the sole singles representative left from these shores and No 23 seed Karlovic will test the Scot on Centre Court with his projectile serve.

The 36-year-old became the first player to hit more than 40 aces in three successive matches in Saturday’s win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, but Murray has claimed all of their five previous meetings.

The Williams sisters go head-to-head once more in Centre Court’s opening match as the siblings bid for a place in the quarter-finals.

The American siblings have amassed 27 Grand Slams between them and in 25 previous clashes between the two, Serena has come out on top 14 times.

They last played each other at Wimbledon in the 2009 final, which Serena won, although Venus triumphed in their previous meeting in Montreal last year.

Roger Federer rounds up the action on Centre Court today against Spain’s Roberto Bautista-Agut and the Swiss’s enduring grass-court glory should be too much for the No 20 seed.

Federer’s bid for a record eighth Wimbledon crown included serving up an audacious ‘hot dog’ shot to Sam Querrey on the All England Club’s manicured lawns in week one.

The No 2 seed will be hoping to carry his good form into week two and a possible quarter-final meeting with Tomas Berdych.

Novak Djokovic will have to take care of Kevin Anderson’s dangerous serve in their Court One match.

The reigning Wimbledon champion and No 1 seed will need to be on his game against the Queens’ finalist, but the 6ft 8in South African has only beaten Djokovic once in five previous meetings.

Maria Sharapova has yet to drop a set at this year’s Wimbledon, but her Court One opponent Zarina Diyas caused an upset by beating Andrea Petkovic to advance to the last 16.

French Open champion Stan Wawrinka plays directly afterwards on Court One against No 16 seed David Goffin.

Ken Skupski and Johanna Konta fly the British flag in the mixed doubles on Court Three in their second round match against No 8 seeds Daniel Nestor and Kristina Mladenovic.
