The royal baby was celebrated at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as a purrfect princess was crowned Charlotte in honour of the new-born Princess of Cambridge.
Six-week-old kitten Charlotte arrived at the famous rescue centre with her six siblings this weekend, staff were so taken with her that she was named after Britain’s most famous baby.
The little black and white kitten will receive royal treatment at Battersea, along with her brothers and sisters, before they are big enough to take over their new kingdoms.
Battersea’s head of cattery, Lindsey Quinlan, said: “On behalf of all our staff and feline friends in the Cattery we would like to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and welcome their little bundle of royal joy into the world!”
Charlotte and her royal court of kingly kittens and cute countesses will welcome feline fans at the Home’s next Knitting Kittens Club on May 13.
Novice knitters to wizard wool-workers can join the interspecies club to create blankets and toys for the cats of Battersea or their own pets.
Kitten Charlotte will preside over proceedings and her court of crafty cat lovers at Battersea’s London Cattery from 5pm to 8pm.
The crowning of one of their newest residents is also a nod to the royal connections of the Home that were established by its first Royal Patron Queen Victoria in 1885.
Its current Patron Her Majesty The Queen visited the Home to open the rescue centre’s new kennels in March 2015.
