Arsonists are to blame for the Sutton Hospital fire this morning, police have revealed.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers tackled the blaze at a disused hospital wing on Cotswold Road in Sutton just after 9am.

The fire, which was under control at 10.26am, affected a building of three floors with part of the second damaged by the fire.

Crews stayed at the scene this morning cutting away and damping down hot spots, with no reports of injuries.

While investigating the cause of the fire, crews believe it was started deliberately.
