AFC Wimbledon v Portsmouth @ Kingsmeadow
Saturday, March 20 2015 @ 3pm
AFC Wimbledon return to Kingsmeadow on Saturday to host Portsmouth following two frustrating losses on their travels this week.
The Dons were beaten 3-2 at Exeter City last Saturday and then 2-1 at Mansfield Town on Tuesday night to leave them without a win on their travels in eight games.
But they have been formidable at home of late, with four wins and a draw in their past five games, a run that has kept them within touching distance of the play-offs.
In Portsmouth they face another side who struggle on their travels with only Mansfield recording fewer away points than Pompey (14) this campaign.
The pre-season title favourites are in good form at the moment though with only one defeat in 11 games and sit one place above Wimbledon with the same points total.
The Dons will be without Dave Winfield after he was recalled to York City by manager Russell Wilcox just three days after his loan was extended.
The Dons are also without Callum Kennedy, who was injured in midweek, the suspended Dannie Bulman and injured goalkeeper James Shea, meaning manager Neal Ardley is likely to call on Ross Worner and the newly-fit duo of Tom Beere and Jake Goodman as replacements.
Among Pompey’s ranks, League Two top scorer Matt Tubbs returns to the club he left in January having netted 12 league goals before his departure.
Until last weekend, Tubbs was still the club’s leading scorer until Adebayo Akinfenwa’s strike brought him level with the departed forward, who Ardley has urged fans to give a warm welcome too.
