Mansfield Town vs AFC Wimbledon @ Field Mill
Tuesday March 15 @ 19:45
AFC Wimbledon travel to Mansfield tonight without suspended midfielder Dannie Bulman as they look to stop the rot away from home.
Bulman serves the first of his three-game suspension following his red card for a two-footed lunge in the 3-2 defeat to Exeter at the weekend.
That loss made it eight away games without a win for the Dons and it could be tricky to change that against a Mansfield side that has picked up 69% of their points this season at home.
But only bottom side Hartlepool have found the net on fewer occasions than the Stags, who have scored just 30 goals in League Two this campaign.
Neal Ardley’s men sit in 12th, seven points off the play-offs, and are on their way to the club’s highest league finish since its rebirth in 2002 despite last weekend’s disappointment at St James’ Park.
Dons’ head coach Simon Bassey is confident the squad will use last week’s defeat to good effect and put right the away concerns.
“It is a blow to lose Dannie, but it gives someone else a chance to stake a claim for the position,” he said.
“We have a good enough squad here now to get back on track.
“We cannot dwell on the Exeter result, we want to finish the season strongly and accumulate as many points as we can. We will try to get to 60 points and see where that takes us.”
