Student staples of cereals, pop tarts, crisp sandwiches and milkshakes have come together in one sweet package following the launch of a Kingston cereal café.
Following in the sugary footsteps of Shoreditch’s Cereal Killer Café and a Belfast crisp sandwich shop Ramon Mullan flung open the doors to his latest venture Cereal Bar earlier this month.
Nestled on Fife Road, the bar offers more than 100 types of cereal, including the entire country’s supply of Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Cream, and appeals to more than just your typical student clientele.

Mr Mullan said: “It varies so much but we have had a lot of over 30s come in.
“Many students come late at night but the type of people we’ve been attracting have not been the type of people we thought we would.
“I automatically thought students would be my target audience but everyone wants to try it, especially on a Saturday – we’ve had a lot of lawyers and estate agents!”
Cereal connoisseurs also have the opportunity to get their chops around crisp sarnies, protein shakes, vegan milkshakes and polish up their retro gaming skills on the café’s Nintendo 64s and arcade games.

The 29-year-old is no stranger to offering customers their next sweet fix, having run milkshake shop Shake House in Epsom for seven years.
He explained: “I had more than 100 different flavours of milkshake at Epsom and this is a very similar concept – Kingston needs a shop like this where people can just come and chill.
“The crisp sandwiches idea was just a little extra but now it’s quite popular and we have people coming in especially for them.”
