Ravishing redheads will take centre stage across the world today on International Kiss a Ginger Day.
People are urged to plant a tiny smooch on those blessed with flaming locks on January 12 to show love and support for those with the once maligned hair colour.
The day started life on Facebook back in 2009 by Derek Forgie as a ‘karmic counter-event’ to the Kick A Ginger campaign.
This resulted in a number of red-headed children being assaulted at school which stirred up international outrage and condemnation.
Flame-haired cuties across social media are sharing their joy at the dedicated day – while reminding people to ask permission before planting a smacker.

And it seems Hollywood also loves those with strawberry tresses as Julianne Moore scooped Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Still Alice, hot British export Eddie Redmayne won Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Theory of Everything while Amy Adams was crowned Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for Big Eyes at last night’s Golden Globes.
