A convicted rapist was sentenced to five years in prison today at Kingston Crown Court following the sexual assault of two minors.
Aaron Pescud, of High Street, Whitton, will serve half of his sentence in custody according to Judge Kent of Kingston Crown Court.
The victims, two girls, were abused by Pescud when they were between the ages of four and 10 – he was between the ages of 11 and 18.
Prosecutor Stephen Clayton said: “There was clearly some grooming of the two girls.”
Pescud kept his arms folded throughout the sentencing hearing, shook his head whenever Mr Clayton spoke and cursed as the judge delivered her sentence.
Defence lawyer Mark Fraser said: “As part of that sentence there was an area of rehabilitation.
“To say that the defendant has learned nothing is not fair, not accurate and not right.
“He received a significant sentence which involved punishment and rehabilitation.”
A previous attempt to sentence him was adjourned after he ripped off his electronic tag and claimed to have overdosed on drugs.
According to a psychological report the defendant, who was diagnosed with ADHD at 16 years old, was also thought to have conduct disorder at the time of his offences.
Mr Fraser said: “Between the age of 11 and 15 he had undiagnosed ADHD which was clearly causing problems in his life.”
Before Pescud’s final sentence was given, Judge Kent said: “You were much older than they were and you were old enough to know what you were doing was wrong.
“You show no remorse for your victims and your attitude and behaviour towards females causes concern.”
In addition to his prison sentence, Pescud will be placed on the Sexual Offenders register and will be subject to weekly notification for life.
