Twickenham Tiggers wanted! Council advert seeks high-flying candidate for trampoline instructor roles

Richmond jobseekers looking to reach new employment heights can apply to become one of the borough’s chief trampoline instructors.

The advert reveals that two vacancies, one a £17-per-hour Level 2 coach role and another for a £25-per-hour Level 3 role have become available at sports and fitness centres in Teddington and Hampton.

Applicants with a spring in their step need to fill out an online application to be considered for interview.

The ad reads: “The purpose of the role is to provide high quality teaching (to individuals and groups) whilst showing good customer care to all users.

“This post will have particular responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating all pupils either within a group context or on a 1-2-1 basis.”

This advert follows a Sport England survey which revealed that obesity levels in the borough are the third lowest in London.

Richmond has more than 200 sports clubs and 32,500 members as well as 130 council managed parks and open spaces including facilities for children and families such as play grounds, sports pitches and courts, outdoor gyms and fitness classes.

Chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board, and former Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Health, Cllr Christine Percival, said: “Obesity has more than doubled in the UK in the past 25 years but ultimately it is vital that residents take responsibility for their health by eating well and taking part in regular exercise and sport.

“Richmond Council supports the Change4Life campaign which encourages people to take responsibility for a healthier lifestyle through making small changes to activity levels and healthier food choices.”

Closing date for applications is January 8 2015 at noon.
