Barry Fuller is hoping for another defensively resolute performance when AFC Wimbledon host York City in their FA Cup first round replay tonight.
The two sides drew 1-1 at Bootham Crescent 10 days ago, and the winner of the replay will travel to another League Two side in high-flying Wycombe Wanderers in the second round.
Fuller scored his first goal in seven years as Wimbledon beat Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, but played it down its importance ahead of keeping a clean sheet.
“I thought I would be doing a lap of the pitch after scoring my first goal in seven years,” said the full-back.
“But I had to keep my concentration and I’m probably happier about helping the tea m keep a clean sheet. We haven’t kept many of them this season.”
The 30-year old added that, despite expecting a battle from the visitors, the Dons’ home form has been impressive this season and they have a good record against York – their defeat to them in March is their only loss in their past seven meetings.
Manager Neal Ardley has no new injury concerns, although Andy Frampton, who scored at York, remains side-lined with an ankle injury.
In the League Two table, York sit 21st position, seven places and eight points worse off than Wimbledon, and they have former Dons left-back Femi Ilesanmi, who came through the youth system at Kingsmeadow, in their ranks.
Star man: James Shea – the former Arsenal trainee was impressive in the first tie and has secured the club’s number one spot.
Danger man: Jake Hyde – the York forward scored in the original tie and is York’s joint highest goalscorer with three goals.
