Premier League: Liverpool vs Chelsea @ Anfield

Chelsea return to Anfield for Saturday’s lunchtime kick off, as they look to make the Merseysiders suffer once again.
Last season’s clash effectively ended Liverpool’s title hopes as Jose Mourinho’s men sealed a 2-0 win.
Both teams enter the match on the back of disappointing midweek results in the Champions League.
A much changed Liverpool side came up short against Real Madrid, while a rare Eden Hazard penalty miss saw the blues only managed a draw against Maribor.
That draw extended Chelsea’s unbeaten run to 16 matches and a weekend win would see their lead increase considerably over nearest rivals Southampton.
Having rested a number of key players the likes of Gary Cahill and Thibout Courtois are set to return while top scorer Diego Costa could also start.
Full back Cesar may replace Filipe Luis, having served his three-match ban.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers defended his team selection following defeat in Europe on Tuesday.
Accused of ‘throwing in the white towel’ after selecting a weakened side, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli are all set for recalls along with captain Gerrard.
Former Chelsea Striker Daniel Sturridge remains sidelined with injury.
Underwhelming against Maribor, Mourinho stressed that improvement is needed if Chelsea are to come away victorious against a Liverpool side, still suffering hangover affects from their failed title challenge.
After landing the title deciding knockout blow last season, Chelsea know it’s vital they aren’t on the receiving end this time round.
