Fulham vs. Derby County @ Craven Cottage
Tuesday, October 28 October @ 8pm
Fulham will be hoping to replicate their good recent league form in the Capital One Cup, as they take on Derby County at Craven Cottage.
The Cottagers have picked up some good results of late, culminating in an impressive 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic on Friday, which lifted them out of the relegation zone.
Caretaker manager Kit Symons has overseen their upturn in fortunes and will be hoping that victory in the Capital One Cup will further convince owner Shahid Khan to appoint him on a permanent basis.
Fulham have lost just twice in eight games under the Welshman, who spent three seasons at the club as a player, and the club’s supporters have been vocal in their backing of him to get the job in recent weeks.
While Fulham are currently placed in lowly 20th position in the Championship, opponents Derby have enjoyed a fine start to the season and are top on goal difference, despite losing 2-1 against Wigan on Saturday.
The home side knocked out League 1 strugglers Doncaster Rovers in the last round, while Derby enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Reading.
Kit Symons has no fresh injury concerns to worry about, as Hugo Rodallega, who limped off at the end of their victory on Friday has declared himself fit.
Derby will be without Lee Grant and Jamie Ward for the clash through injury.
