Films including Home Alone 1 and 2 and Love Actually will be showing.
One sure-fire sign that the holiday season is here has to be John Mclane walking off into the night as news crews gather round the Nakatomi Plaza Building and Vaughan Monroe’s ‘Let it Snow’ rings out over the credits.
If, for some strange reason, Die Hard is not your idea of a Christmas film, there is still reason to celebrate as Pop Up Screens are bringing a whole host of classics to Notting Hill this December.
Following a successful outdoor summer season, the mobile cinema company is packing up its inflatable screens and moving inside for eight days of festive film, aimed at both children and adults.
The screenings, which include films such as The Muppets Christmas Carol, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Bad Santa, Home Alone 1 and 2, and Love Actually, among others, will be held at the 20th Century Cinema on Westbourne Grove from December 13 – 20.
Pop Up Screens has promised a full bar, serving mulled wine and alcoholic hot chocolate as well as your more traditional beverages.
If that isn’t festive enough for you, cinema goers can also expect a venue ‘full of snow, with the only entrance through our own magic wardrobe’.
If this sounds like something that may of interest you are urged to book as soon as possible as some of the more popular screenings have already begun to sell out.
Robert McBride, 30, from Camden made sure of his tickets once the films were announced.
He said: “When I saw that Die Hard was screening on Friday 20th, which is my last day at work before the holidays, I knew I had to sort tickets out. It is unquestionably the best, most quotable Christmas film of all time. Fake snow, alcoholic Christmas drinks, what more can you ask for!”
