Lerone Boyle was sentenced to 28 years for the murder of Kelvin Chibueze.
A convicted murderer who escaped from a mental health unit is still on the run, more than a month after his disappearance.
Police renewed an appeal this week to help trace Lerone Boye, who was jailed for life in December after stabbing a Croydon teenager to death.
The 27-year-old has not been seen since Wednesday October 16, when he absconded from the John Howard Centre in Kenworthy Road in Homerton.
Boye was sentenced to 28 years for the murder of Kelvin Chibueze of Underwood, New Addington, during a party at the Arteflex Club in High Road, Ilford, on August 15 2011.
A police spokesman said: “There is intelligence to suggest Boye may still be in east London and he has links to Barking, Newham and Ilford.”
After being stabbed inside Arteflex Club, Mr Chibueze was then chased outside and attacked with champagne and brandy bottles before being stabbed again shortly afterwards by two men near Ilford police station.
One New Addington resident said: “I’m not concerned with who is responsible for him getting away, I just pray he doesn’t claim any more victims.
“I understand he needs to be dealt with carefully, but you know – a month on? It’s very worrying, I think the safety of the public is most important.”
Boye has not been seen since the moments just before he absconded the centre at approximately 2.00pm, where he was pictured wearing a grey/blue sweatshirt with a grey vest over the top.
Police describe him as a black man, 5ft 10ins tall, with a slim build and short black hair.
He has a horseshoe-shaped scar on his right cheek, a goatee beard and has a gold tooth in his upper row of teeth.
Police advise the public not to approach Boye, but to call 999 if seen.
