Award-winning actress Tracie Bennett joins one of the country’s leading musical theatre companies.
Olivier Award-winning actress Tracie Bennett is set to join a star cast in The WestEnders; The World’s Most Popular Musicals in Concert, a brand new show coming to New Wimbledon Theatre at the end of this month.
Tracie recently gave a critically-acclaimed performance as Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow in the West End and on tour, and is now set to star in an evening to celebrate the world’s most popular musicals including Les Misérables, The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon.
A company of past performers from the record-breaking West End production of Les Misérables draw on that show’s passion and music to create an inspired evening accompanied by a live seven-piece band.
Tracie’s other West End credits include La Cage Aux Folles at the Playhouse Theatre, Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre (Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical), Madame Thenardier in Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre and She Loves Me at the Savoy Theatre (Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical). Tracie also played Sharon Gaskell in Coronation Street from 1982-1999.
The WestEnders are Frances Fry (Oliver!, Les Misérables) Stephen Weller (Martin Guerre, Les Misérables, The Producers) Jill Nalder (Oliver!, Les Misérables) Andrew Newey (Joseph, Miss Saigon) Linda Jarvis (Aspects Of Love, Les Misérables) and Adrian Grove (Starlight Express, Les Misérables, Saturday Night Fever).
