Tunde Olutosin was removed from Fire after a fight inside.
A man who shot a bouncer outside a Lambeth nightclub has been jailed for 22 years following a two-week trial at the Old Bailey.
Tunde Olutosin, 24, was found guilty of four counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
On Sunday May 19 2013, police were called to Fire on Parry Street after reports of gunshots at 04:05am.
Officers discovered that a fight inside the venue had resulted in Olutosin being ejected, which resulted in him arguing with one of the security personnel and at one stage brandishing a broken bottle. He then left, making repeated threats to return with a gun and kill the door staff.
Olutosin then returned with a revolver and shot at the door staff a number of times, although no-one was hit.
He then fled the scene, with officers identifying him as a suspect by DNA which led to his arrest. The firearm has not been recovered.
“Through his own violent behaviour, it was necessary for the security staff to eject Olutosin from the nightclub to ensure the safety of other nightclub-goers; this caused him to sustain injuries whilst they tried to restrain him,” said Investigating officer, Acting Detective Sergeant Sylvia Diggins, of Trident South Reactive Team.
“However frustrating this may have been for Olutosin it did not warrant him arming himself with a gun and then firing at the door staff. It is a miracle that no-one was harmed.
“I hope this significant sentence sends a clear message to those involved in gun crime that they will be caught and will be placed before the courts.”
