The play runs from November 22 to February 15.
Polka Theatre’s traditional Christmas performance is back this year as the magic of Wonderland takes over Wimbledon. The Mad-Hatter and the Queen of Hearts take to the stage bringing the much loved Lewis Carroll tale to life.
Written by Simon Reade, directed by Rosamunde Hunt and with the set design created by Ti Green , this ‘dream team’ has twisted this much loved classic fiction and turned it into something spectacularly modern.
With Ebony Feare playing Alice, the story takes place in her attic on a cold winter’s day. When the renowned character of the White Rabbit appears, the attic is transformed into the magical wonderland that we all know so well.
Although the play has been given a complete overhaul in terms of modernisation, Simon Reade has remained loyal to the songs and music, and has combined it with contemporary costume design and hilarious and ingenious humour for ages six and above.
Alice in Wonderland plays at the Polka Theatre from November 22 until February 15. Tickets cost £16 (concessions £11) and can be booked from the theatre’s website (www.polkatheatre.com ) or by calling the Box Office on 0208543 4888.
