The event takes place this Saturday and Sunday.
Brixton is celebrating art, music and food from the area this weekend.
Brixton Come Together Weekend is in its second year and will be held at St Matthew’s Peace Garden and the Brixton Electric on Brixton Hill.
The free independent two-day festival will involve events in film, photography, literature, music and food. The theme this year will be: ‘Think Local Act Global’, creating awareness about the usage of water across the world.
The official website described the event as aimed to promote and support the local community through the arts.
The event organisers said on their Facebook page: “20 degrees and sunshine expected, along with a huge list of free gigs, workshops and talks…can’t wait to see you there!”
Shanty Band are the first musical performance at 3.30pm with Prince Fatty, who has three albums to his name, bringing his unique sound to Brixton later at 4.30pm.
Hollie Cook, daughter of Sex Pistol’s drummer Paul Cook, presents her self-coined ‘tropical-pop’, also at 4.30pm.
Performing at 6pm, Omar, who has worked with Stevie Wonder, is a British soul singer who has just released his sixth album.
Rounding off the day is six-piece reggae band General Roots, who will hit the stage at 7pm.
The main act on Sunday is Che Sudaka, who play at 6.30pm. They are a Barcelona Latin-American alternative band, who blend South American and Spanish styles with reggae and rock.
Mango Seed and Family Atlantica complete the line-up on Sunday, performing at 3pm and 4.20pm respectively.
