Operation Breeze took place this week.
A police operation aimed to make the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham safer for residents has been hailed a success.
Operation Breeze, which took place this Wednesday, resulted in 37 stop and search warrants, eight cannabis warnings issued, one arrest for handling stolen goods and 33 bikes security marked.
Parks Police also challenged youths taking drugs in Furnivall Gardens while one woman was stopped from urinating in the bushes and a rough sleeper referred to support services.
Councillor Greg Smith, Hammersmith and Fulham Council deputy leader, said that the operation was just one of the ways they are working to disrupt the criminal minority.
“From local intelligence-gathering crime road shows to extra bobbies on the beat and covert sting operations we are taking the fight to the criminals day in and day out,” he said.
Last year, crime in the borough fell to the lowest level ever recorded, and has continued to do so this year, with 1088 fewer crimes between April and June than the same period last year,
Hammersmith and Fulham Council has joined with local business to spend £1.6million a year to pay for three enhanced squads of town centre police, meaning the borough has 42 more officers than it would do otherwise.
