An accountant from Tooting Bec is cycling from London to the Arctic Circle to raise cash for a disabled cycling charity.

Lynne Medlock, 24, will be setting off from her home with friend Marie Faithfull, 22, on Saturday August 10 to start a 1500 mile expedition to Nordkapp in Norway.

The five-week adventure will involve wild camping and extreme conditions as they make their way through six countries and challenging terrain including the wet and windy North Sea coastline and the hilly Norwegian fjords.

They have been preparing for over nine months and are aiming to raise £2000 for Wheels for Wellbeing, a London-based charity supporting people with disabilities and health conditions to cycle.

The expedition fulfils their ambition to take on an adventurous challenge to raise money for a good cause.

“I have always had an itch for adventure but this is the toughest challenge I’ve ever attempted. I hope our efforts will inspire others to get out there and have the adventures they’ve been dreaming of,” said Lynne.

“Wheels for Wellbeing has helped hundreds of people push through their own barriers and enjoy the fun and benefits of cycling. We want to raise money to support the charity’s inclusive cycle sessions.”
