Successful dance company BalletBoyz will appear at the Rose Theatre in Kingston for a one-off performance later this month.

The company, who embarked on a critically acclaimed UK tour earlier this year, are performing in the one-off gala to celebrate the opening  of their new studio in Kingston.

Artistic Directors Michael Nunn and William Trevitt will return to the stage for the first time since 2009 to perform an extract from their first piece as BalletBoyz in 2001; Critical Mass by Russell Maliphant.

“We haven’t performed at the Rose Theatre before, and we’re very much looking forward to it,” said Nunn.

The Rose is an unusual venue with a great space and we’re creating a show specifically for the theatre. During the evening we’ll be showing some of our film clips which will tell the story of BalletBoyz and take the audience behind the scenes. It’s certainly going to be an evening to remember!”

The Company has achieved much over the last twelve years and we look forward to the next twelve, as proud residents of Kingston-Upon-Thames.”

The BalletBoyz own all-male company, the Talent, will be joined on stage by singer/songwriter, Keaton Henson, whose music was used in the 2010 piece Alpha.

The performance will also include the special guest appearance of Royal Ballet Principals Marianela Nunez (2012 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance) and Thiago Soares in the duet After the Rain from Christopher Wheeldon.

In August the company will be running a one week BalletBoyz Boot Camp for boys and girls aged 13-17 in the new studio. Two summer intensives, in ballet and contemporary style, are available to professional and pre-professional dancers aged 18+.

In September the company will launch a series of daytime and evening dance classes, including pre-school movement, kids’ ballet and dance, adults’ ballet as well as yoga and Pilates.
