The club are looking for 16-18 senior players.
Hampton and Richmond Borough had try-outs last week as they look to bulk up their squad for the new campaign starting in August.
From 100 who applied, 40 were invited to the Beveree stadium, while the number has now been whittled down to just 12 who join first team training.
Paul Barry, who manages jointly with Darren Powell, said: “Three of four really stood out, so hopefully we’ll see more of that in training and they’ll be an addition to the club.”
He said the club are looking for 16-18 senior players in total, which will then be supplemented by the youth and reserve team squads.
The Ryman Isthmian League Premier Division side suffered from having a thin squad last season, as despite a promising start, they eventually had to settle for 13th place.
The Beavers had to rely on just 14 players in the latter part of the campaign, while due to a fixture pile up they were forced to play nine games in 28 days.
The team are ready to provide a second chance to players rejected by bigger clubs, with 17-year-old left-back George Wells, described by Barry as a superb talent, originating at Chelsea.
“We believe we can get the best of out of them,” Barry said.
“If we can get the players we want we could be challenging for playoffs or promotion.”
The club are also looking to recruit from the Conference South, while they may even bring in loanees from bigger clubs such as QPR and Crystal Palace, who will both play Hampton and Richmond Borough in pre-season friendlies.
One player who looks to be moving on is Tom Hickey, who is training with League One side Brentford.
