The free event was run by All Star Tennis in partnership with Will to Win.
Wandsworth youngsters got an early taste of Wimbledon at King George’s Park last weekend at a free tennis open day.
Families made the most of the sunshine with children enjoying free coaching and tennis games while parents got the chance to try out Cardio Tennis and Tennis Xpress, two ways for adults who haven’t played before to get involved with the game.
The open days were run by All Star Tennis in partnership with Will to Win, a new partnership for the borough.
“We were thrilled that so many people came along to the Open Days in King George’s Park on Saturday and Tooting Common on Sunday,” said Ben White, Director at All Star Tennis.
“Seeing so many children and adults enjoying playing tennis for the first time was fantastic and we’re really excited about getting lots more people in Wandsworth on the courts. You never know, we might even find the next Wimbledon champion!”
All Star Tennis, previously known as All Star Coaching, have been running tennis on Wandsworth Common for over ten years.
Alongside Will to Win, they have been awarded a contract to run six parks sites in the borough to provide more opportunities for children and adults to get active through tennis.
