Two taken to hospital after South Norwood supermarket fire

Two people have been taken to hospital following a fire at a supermarket in South Norwood this morning.

The fire, at Nisa Supermarket on High Street, started at around 11am and was attended by eight fire crews and over 50 firefighters.

A two-year-old boy and a man in his thirties were both treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and then taken to Croydon University Hospital.

It is still unknown how the fire started.

South Norwood High Street was closed between Oliver Grove and the junction with Portland Road.
