9 to 5: The Musical – New Wimbledon Theatre
Monday 22 October – Saturday 27 October
Tickets: £15-£42
This new musical comedy, direct from Broadway, boasts a stellar all star cast including Natalie Casey (Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Legally Blonde the Musical), Bonnie Langford (Chicago, Spamalot, Cats), Ben Richards (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Grease, The Bill), Jackie Clune (Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia!) and Amy Lennox (Legally Blonde the Musical, The Sound of Music) and is based on the hit movie and centres on three office workers who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical, lying, bigot of a boss. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do – even in a man’s world. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, Dolly Parton – 9 to 5 The Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business.
Feisty, fun and oh so fabulous! This show features Dolly Parton’s original hit title song, 9 to 5 which won her an Oscar nomination and 4 Grammy Award nominations along with her new Tony and Grammy nominated score.

Dara began at the Hammersmith Apollo last night but the comedian of Mock the Week and Apprentice: You’re Fired fame will be continuing his show at the Hammersmith Apollo for another week.

Tenacious D – Hammersmith Apollo
Wednesday 24 October
Tickets: £39.75
Sticking with our Hammersmith Apollo theme we’ve managed to find another gem, this time it’s American rock band, Tenacious D. While Jack Black may be a little busier these days, galavanting around as Po the giant panda in DreamWork’s Kung Fu Panda, it seems he’s penciled in a little time to get tour with the other half of Tenacious D, Kyle Glass.
The last time the duo were in England was to play at the Reading and Leeds Festival – but that’s no good for us here in South West London, so it’s high time they came here and serenaded us with their satire and comedy which make up Tenacious D lyrics.

Jimmy Carr: Gagging Order – Richmond Theatre
Sunday 21 October
Tickets: £26.00
If you’re not a Dara Ó Briain fan then you’ve got to be a Jimmy Carr fan, you just have to. Jimmy’s well known for his hilarious one liners and questionable tax practices, so it’s no doubt going to be an entertaining night. Gagging Order has already been a well received tour across the country, with Jimmy continuing his love affair with audience interaction, so if you like having a bit of satire at your expense, then this is the perfect night out.

Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival – Royal Victoria Patriotic Building
Thursday 24 October – 27 October
Tickets: £4 entry at the door
Halloween is fast approaching yet again and the people of Wandsworth won’t be celebrating this year’s Halloween in the traditional sense, instead opting for a slightly more alcohol-infused celebration. Sponsored by Kentish brewer, Shepherd Neame, the event promises plenty of beer, which would be weird if it didn’t, given that it’s a beer festival, and even some cider and wine for that extra elegance. If that’s not enough there will also live music on both the Friday and Saturday.
