Grease, New Wimbledon Theatre

The No.1 Greatest Musical, Grease, is back at New Wimbledon Theatre from Monday 15 October for just one week only! Danny Bayne (winner of ITV’s Grease Is The Word, Hairspray) returns as Danny with Carina Gillespie (Grease, Buddy) as Sandy and Strictly Come Dancing legend Russell Grant as Teen Angel!

Good Grief, Richmond Theatre

12 October -13 October

Adapted by Keith Waterhouse from his own best-selling comic novel, Good Grief tells the story of June Pepper, a bereaved widow of the editor of a newspaper, who discovers there is far more to life than death. Wimbledon FilmFest

15 October – 21 October

This marks the addition of Wimbledon FilmFest to the arts scene in Merton. The project is a collaboration with Wimbledon BookFest, hmvCurzon, Wimbledon Film Club and students from the London Met Film School.

The week long festival will run from 15th-21 October and will include screenings, talks, a shorts film competition and film workshops.

There is a screening of the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby in Wimbledon Common on Saturday October 13.

There are events going on across Wimbledon so keep your eyes and ears peeled!

Comedy Carnival at The Grand, The Clapham Grand

Saturday 13 October, 7pm.

For over eight years, Comedy Carnival at The Grand has presented the world’s finest comedians every Saturday, including Russell Brand, Michael McIntyre, Milton Jones, Sarah Millican, Micky Flanagan and Jack Whitehall. Saturday’s show features Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Road show star Imran Yusuf, award-winning comic Big Colin Cole, wise-cracking Aussie Pete Jonas, and the hilarious David Morgan as MC.

Images of Nature, the Natural History Museum

A new permanent gallery showcasing the museum’s collection of natural history artworks, including paintings, watercolours and prints from natural history artists such as the bird illustrator John Gerrard Keulemans and botanical artist Georg Ehret.

Many of the artworks are too delicate for permanent display so will change every 3 months, giving visitors the chance to see about 100 paintings over the year.

Kingston Run Challenge

Start time 8am

After 21 years, on 14th October 2012 the popular RunKingston event will evolve to become something even bigger and better – the Kingston Run Challenge!

This festival of running has something for everyone – from children and beginners through to experienced runners and marathon experts.

The centre of Kingston-upon-Thames will be closed to traffic on Sunday October 14 as thousands of runners and spectators come together to celebrate getting fit and being active.
