Rena Nathanson won the award at the annual conference for her family word game Bananagrams.
A Richmond mother of two is Mumpreneur UK’s “Inspirational Business Mum of 2012.”
Rena Nathanson won the award at the annual conference for her family word game Bananagrams – “The anagram game that will drive you bananas!”
The idea was conceived as a family on holiday around the kitchen table and is now based in East Sheen.
Since production began in 2005, Bananagrams has become hugely successful and sold over six million units in 31 countries worldwide.
Ms Nathanson said: “I was shocked and stunned to be named Inspirational Business Mum 2012. It’s a real honour, especially to have been nominated alongside so many other successful businesswomen.
“I hope my story will motivate other mothers and prove that they can still be a global success without compromising their quality of family life.”
Mumpreneur UK is a leading non-profit support network for mums in business, providing advice, resources and events.
“Rena stands out as she is an ordinary intelligent woman who had a terrific idea and wasn’t afraid to challenge herself to make her idea successful,” said Vanessa Gold, Mumpreneur UK ambassador and managing director of Ann Summers.
“She has an established business of eight years and clearly demonstrates her growth aspiration and her future vision.”
