A teenager has tried to persuade AFC Wimbledon bosses to give him the vacant managerial post by citing his success on computer game Football Manager 2012.
Alec Blatherwick, 15, tweeted his application moments after Terry Brown was sacked from the hot seat following a string of defeats.
Alec said he would be the “perfect man” to succeed Mr Brown and that his gaming experience stands him in good stead to turn the club’s fortunes around.
Alec cites taking semi-professional club Blythe Spartans to the Barclay’s Premier League as his biggest accomplishment on the game.
A spokesman for AFC Wimbledon said they’ve received around 40 applications for the post and one will be appointed soon.
Several managers’ names have been rumoured to be in the mix, including Brentford’s Andy Scott and Lawrie Sanchez, who is currently a free agent.
