Drug dealers in Kensington and Chelsea are being targeted by the police in a new initiative launched this week.
Operation Hawk will see officers in Kensington and Chelsea and across London carry out daily operations against local drug dealers.
Safer Neighbourhoods teams, alongside specialist colleagues, will lead the charge against street level drug dealers using local community intelligence.
Whilst officers are planning a series of operations, the Metropolitan Police are asking for information to help rid communities of drug dealers and the crime and criminals that accompany them.
Whilst activity against drug dealers has always been a priority of the police, Operation Hawk is focused on tackling drug dealing at street level.
Superintendent Alisdair Ferguson, Acting Borough Commander for Kensington and Chelsea, said: “Here at Kensington and Chelsea we are committed to taking down crime and taking the fight to the criminals.
“Drug dealing damages communities, generates crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
“Operation Hawk is a renewed emphasis on local policing teams tackling street level drug dealing and associated crime using local community intelligence and we urge the public to come forward with information about who is dealing drugs or committing crime in their area so that together we can make it stop.”
