Action in Merton took to the streets of Wimbledon town centre in a two-hour walk yesterday.

Issues raised from the walk will be put towards AIM’s September 20th community event to be held outside Centre Court Shopping Centre.
Stands on the piazza will offer information and guidance to local residents regarding their borough.
It will be Merton Council’s last AIM event of the year following previous summer meetings in Mitcham and South Wimbledon.
The area around Bridge House Car Park on Hartfield Road was of particular interest to the AIM party, with its graffiti and paving issues noted down by community and environmental officers also present today.
Fly-tipping, dog-fouling, and general littering are other problems AIM and Merton Council are hoping to address.
Councillor Simpson said: “We want it so that when people get off the train or bus in Wimbledon they get what they see – clean and tidy streets.
“This walk-around is to improve the surrounding area, look at where previous improvements didn’t work, and come back in three weeks’ time to fix issues in the short-term and keep our streets clean.”
