Expect a host of colourful characters and plenty of twists and turns as Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile comes to the New Wimbledon Theatre this week.
The Agatha Christie Theatre Company production, which is now in its seventh year, stars Kate O’Mara (of Dynasty and Bad Girls) and Denis Lill (of Doctor Who).
Honeymooners Simon Mostyn and his wealthy socialite wife Kay who find themselves pursued by an ex of the groom while on board a steamer, cruising under the scorching Egyptian sun. A body is discovered and everything is not what it seems.
Directed by Joe Harmston, this stylish new production of the queen of crime’s classic thriller promises to keep you guessing to the final shattering climax.
The show also stars Susie Amy, of 71 Degrees North and Footballers’ Wives, Chloe Newsome, Coronation Street’s Vicky McDonald, Ben Nealon, fondly remembered as Capt Jeremy Forsythe from the long running ITV drama Soldier Soldier, and 60’s pop idol Mark Wynter.
Agatha Christie’s stage adaptation of the novel Death on the Nile was first performed in 1944 under the title Hidden Horizon; it later opened in the West End and on Broadway as Murder on the Nile in 1946.
Murder on the Nile plays at the New Wimbledon Theatre from April 2–7 2012.
