SOUTH West London mother-of-three Akiko Nakagaki has been left celebrating this week after a packet of Pampers earned her tickets to potentially see the likes of David Beckham and co. in action at the London 2012 Olympics.

Nakagaki bagged herself four tickets for the gold-medal football match this summer – after winning a competition run by P & G – which GB fans will be hoping will feature the likes of Beckham and co.

With oldest son Takihiro, 10, and husband Masaki, keen football fans the tickets – worth over £500 – have caused quite a stir in the Nakagaki household and beyond.

The Nakagaki’s re-located to London from Tokyo in 2007 and mother Akiko admits she has fielded more than a few jealous phone calls from home.

“Of course we are very, very happy to have won the tickets but also very surprised as well,” said Nakagaki.

“My husband was very happy to have got the tickets and my son too was very happy as he is a big football fan.  He plays football a lot and he is excited about being able to watch the Olympic final.

“It will be a great experience and some of my friends are quite jealous that we are getting to go and watch such a big game.

“When my husband ends his contract in the next couple of years we will probably go back to Japan so it will be a great memory for us.”

The date now firmly etched in the Nakagaki diary is August 11 – a day which will see a break from protocol.

Husband Masaki is usually a hard man to pin down with his jet-setting life working in the oil industry but the Olympics will see work put to one side.

“Since I have had the children I have not had a lot of chance to play sport but I used to really enjoy tennis,” she added.

“My husband is away a lot with work but I am sure he will find time to make sure he is around on the day when we go to the Olympics.”
