Wimbledon clubbers can see a teapot-shaped disco ball, likely to be the world’s largest, at Watershed this weekend.
Clubbers in Wimbledon should expect their very own ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ at the Watershed this weekend.
The 320-strong crowd may even party their way into the record books as they dance under what could be the world’s largest disco ball teapot.
The teapot, measuring 3 metres in diameter, is believed to be the first of its kind and took over a week to make using 50,100 mirrored tiles.
Other highlights of the club’s Alice in Wonderland inspired ‘cheese’ room include giant playing cards, and paintings of the Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter on the walls.
Manager Tom Wilkes is so impressed by the public’s reaction that he is considering entering his creation into the Guinness Book of Records.
“There’s a lot of jaw-dropping,” he said.
“People often don’t even know it’s there until they look up and just go WOW!”
The world’s largest disco ball measures 7.35 m in diameter and was made by Raf Frateur in Antwerp, Belgium, but there are no teapot-shaped entries as yet.
Entry to the Watershed costs £5 or £8 after midnight.
