WATCH: Pink Pony Club Cabaret offers under-represented performers a platform

A Chappell Roan themed Pink Pony Club cabaret took place on 16 February with renditions of the star’s songs performed and came complete with a merch stand.

Sad Girl Productions hosted the cabaret performance at Union Theatre in Southwark and was the London cabaret group’s first to have an almost entirely queer line up – and managed to sell all 70 available tickets.

Founder and producer of Sad Girl Productions, Jade Johnson, intends to continue using the shows to give platforms to under-represented artists such as the queer community and help build their careers and create a community.

Singer Ella Fae said: “The support from Jade and Sad Girl Productions as a whole is always there.

“It’s an amazing platform for queer performers, non-queer performers, singer-songwriters, musical theatre performers and anyone who loves to perform.”

The show also had a Chappell Roan themed raffle with a DIY ceramic cowboy boot and a limited edition vinyl as prizes, raising over £200 towards performer Charlie Weldon’s Endometriosis surgery in raffle ticket sales.

Jade hopes to continue putting on artist-themed shows like the Pink Pony Club cabaret and to continue to grow the Sad Girls community, with a Taylor Swift cabaret in Eastleigh announced for April having previously sold 1300 tickets at another Swiftie themed show.
