Harlequins secure scrum-tastic deal with Singapore Airlines

Harlequins Rugby Club has announced that Singapore Airlines is now the club’s official airline partner.

The club, which finished sixth in last season’s Premiership, start their new campaign on Sunday away at Sale Sharks.

With three new signings, alongside a mixture of experienced internationals and younger players, Harlequins will be fighting to make it higher up the table this season.

Laurie Dalrymple, CEO of Harlequins, stated: “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Singapore Airlines, a world-class Airline and industry leader – transporting rugby fans to some of the best destinations in the world from the UK, with seamless connecting flights in Singapore to Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re extremely proud to be the only club in the Premiership to have an Official Airline Partner and look forward to working with Singapore Airlines to establish a long and successful relationship that benefits customers and fans.”

Singapore Airlines was voted the best in the world for the fifth time at the World Airline Awards last June.

Quins’ three new players for this season are Wyn Jones, Leigh Halfpenny, and Titi Lamositele – three names which have excited many fans and provided hope of a first league title since 2021.

Welshman, Jones, 32, has earned 48 caps for Wales and made his international debut in 2017 against Tonga.

Halfpenny, 35, needs no introduction and joins Harlequins as injury cover for the upcoming season.

The Welsh legend, with more than a hundred caps for his country, retired from Test rugby in November.

Lamositele, 29, who has caps for both Samoa and USA and plays prop, has been playing for the French team Montpellier since 2020.

Harlequins describe themselves as a fun, safe and inclusive environment that offers rugby programmes for six to 18-year-olds as well as their professional men’s and women’s teams.

The club has produced many iconic rugby players including former Harlequins President Adrian Stoop, former England Captain Will Carling, and upcoming youngster Fin Baxter.
