WATCH: Surviving in the London hospitality industry

Across London, numerous hospitality businesses face problems with recruiting and retaining staff, paying the cost to run a business and working tiring hours. 

In the video below, Clapham 1833 owners, Matthew Robbins and Sasha Hanau-Robbins, outline their mindset to opening a bar and aim to improve the quality of the hospitality work environment.

By bringing in corporate experience, the couple hope to do things better for the well-being of their staff which in turn will help their business.

JJ Goodman, founder of The Cocktail Club said how Brexit impacted his workforce drastically and how he has struggled to find replacement staff.

From speaking to both business owners it is apparent there is no help from where it matters and funding from the government could vastly improve this struggling sector.
