London born Oliver Goethe, who races under the German Flag, is looking to build upon his maiden victory at Silverstone in last season’s Formula 3 Championship.
Finishing eighth in the standings, Goethe had a solid first full season in Formula 3, including a feature race win at Silverstone and a second place finish at the feature race in Bahrain.
Goethe said: “I went a few weekends without getting any points and I was struggling a bit before Silverstone so it was an amazing feeling.
“The goal is to win the championship this season.
“I feel like I have more experience and I know from last year that I showed some very good moments with very strong pace.
“And this year, the goal is to be a bit more consistent and rack up the points every weekend and fight for the championship.”
Goethe who last season raced for Trident, now races for Campos Racing, and was signed to the Red Bull Junior Team at the end of last year.
Goethe said: “It’s a great opportunity.
“It is every racing driver’s dream to be a part of an academy and I look forward to working with them this season with the huge amount of experience they have.”
Formula 3 will have ten race weekends in 2024, beginning on February 29 in Sakhir, Bahrain.
He said: “I’m looking forward to Monaco this year. Last year was not the result I wanted or expected, and it’s a race that I really want to do well this year.”
“It would be a dream come true to have back-to-back wins in Silverstone.”
The season sees the drivers travelling to Melbourne, Imola, Monaco, Barcelona, Spielberg, Silverstone, Budapest, Spa- Francorchamps, and finishing off in Monza.
He said: “It’s always a special feeling racing outside of Europe and of course in F2 they have more races outside of Europe, like Baku and Jeddah.”
“Those races would be amazing to go to.”
The Barcelona, Spielberg, and Silverstone races will be a triple header, meaning that the young drivers will be racing six times in three weeks due to the sprint and feature race format.
He said: “It’s pretty much constant when the races are back-to-back, but when we get a bit of a break, I try to relax and reset.
“In the time off I’ll work with the team on the simulator with Red Bull, and just try to be the best version of myself.”
The 2024 F3 season will span across eight months, culminating in Monza with the final race set to take place on September 1.
