The TfL network celebrated Black History Month this year with a series of poetry, art and music all across London.
Newly designed buses commemorating the 75 year history of the Windrush generation have entered circulation.
The bus was designed by artist Baraka Carberry and was featured as part of a float in the Notting Hill Carnival in August. It’s running on route 40 between Clerkenwell Green and Dulwich from October into the New year.
Several Underground stations have hosted poetry sessions too.
At Brixton station a hand-painted mural has been unveiled, as well as a photo series of inspirational black female TfL staff under the theme of “Saluting our sisters”.
Moving on to the Overground, four DJs took place across different stations playing tunes from Africa, the Carribbean and the USA.
Overground staff are giving away educational books, tote bags and keyrings.
