Practitioners of a niche sport in London, Japanese ancient archery, are celebrating after several members were promoted in a big ceremony in Tokyo.
White Rose Kyudojo has been running since the 80s and teaches the ways of Kyudo, a martial art founded out of battlefield archery.
It is characterised by the unusually long top-heavy bow which is used.
Club members described Kyudo as an amalgamation of sport, art, meditation and self-building.
We spoke to Kyudo masters and students in an Eltham sports hall to find out more about the origins of this ancient pass time in the UK.
