The Met Police have announced that detectives will reward £10,000 to anyone who helps locate a couple who went missing with a new-born baby earlier this year.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, leading the investigation, said he was “extremely concerned” about the health of the newborn baby.
He added he was concerned for the welfare of the couple.
“Finding the baby is our top priority and we are now offering a £10,000 reward to anyone who provides information which leads to them being found,” he said, appealing to anyone who may have information.
“Maybe you have been reluctant to come forward before, for whatever reason, with key information to help us find the family.
“It does not matter why you did not speak to us earlier, what matters is doing the right thing now for the good of a vulnerable newborn baby.”
Mark Gordon, 48, and Constance Marten, 35, went missing with their baby, and the police are still trying to locate them.
According to the Met Police, detectives have tracked them to Newhaven in East Sussex.
They were dropped off in a taxi at 4:56am just outside the entrance to the port, before walking to where the A259 crosses over the B2109.
They were last seen sheltering from the rain under the overpass, at 6am.
“We have no evidence to suggest that they boarded a ferry in Newhaven, and we still strongly believe that they remain here in the UK – although they could be anywhere,” Basford said.
